Liminal
Thesis

2025

We spend too much time on our phones. We're constantly connected, but rarely present. Liminal is a response to that. It's a modern reimagining of the 1960s Happenings—live, unscripted events shaped by the people who show up. Participation is everything. You’re either there, or you miss it. It’s that simple. (The word liminal refers to a transitional moment between everyday life and the unknown.)

A few days later, three oversized newspapers mysteriously arrive at your door. Each one offers a glimpse into what’s to come.

The experience begins when a short teaser video quietly appears on your feed.

Each newspaper is paired with a vinyl pressing of John Cage’s 4'33". These records act as keys, not to the events themselves, but to your mindset.
